A New Adventure?

SCHOOL. IS. DONE. As fun as this last semester and as crazy as next semester is going to be, I'm very grateful for a break. The end of the year was great. We wrapped it up right by following through with the Pflueger tradition of streaking through campus. We cleaned out our rooms (which took six hours) and moved all of our belongings back home. At the moment I can't shut my bedroom door...

So what's next on the list of things to do. This summer I'm mixing it up and steering away from late Tacoma summer nights, the 4th of July in California, spontaneous trips to Canada, and the obscene amounts of sleeping. Instead I'm going to be an au pair in Istanbul for a lovely family with two kids. I'm excited and a little nervous, but I'll be back just in time for RA training in August. I'll be sure to update this while I'm gone so everyone can check in for a detailed description of what I'm doing (or at least some cool pictures).

Aye Aye Aye! Cinco de Mayo!

A day full of mustaches and sombreros. The last time we'll be able to throw a fiesta before summer. We pushed our three baby tables together, ate burritos from Tacey G, mass amounts of chips and salsa, and of course, our Jesus and Mary candles. It was a night that I just can't explain in words, therefore, I'll just explain with photos. Gracias mis amigos.

Birthday Adventure Time! Yeaaaah!

April 20th marked the anniversary of Hitler's birthday, the Columbine shooting, and national smoke some weed day. But more importantly, it was my golden birthday! To make up for a not-so-fantastic 19th birthday, we made sure to make this one the best. We celebrated at midnight with an awesome cake Audrey made, signs on my door, and an even better sign on my window ("It's my birthday! Honk!"), that is sadly still up almost two weeks later. Unfortunately the city of Parkland hasn't realized it's not birthday time anymore...

To super celebrate we decided to spend a fancy night in Canada. We got a hotel right off Granville with a king size bed and pull out couch. We of course went to Red Robin then got ready to go out. The night consisted of lots of moving around, lots of dancing, bearded men, and a cut foot. Nonetheless, it was awesome. Finishing the night with a giant pizza at 3 am, we went to bed and drove the hours back home Saturday morning.

I'm Old Greg and I Like Tulips.

Last weekend Julie, Emma, Shay Shay, Shayla's friend Shelbie and I all went up to Skagit County for the Tulip Fields! We first stopped and picked up Emma in Edmonds. After getting a little turned around we made it to her Norwegian home and took her away. She took us to the Tea Room for delicious tea and scones :) After quite a while in traffic we FINALLY made it. It was all worth it to walk around in the beautiful sun looking at the colorful fields. I recommend checking it out! Just take the Mt. Vernon exit (the one with the smokestack with a tulip painted on it) and follow the tulip route signs. On the way home we stopped at Macaroni Grill (AMAZING) for some yummy pasta. What a successful weekend.

This weekend also consisted of many games of chatroulette. No, we're not getting naked. We simply like to dress up and creep people out. We also like to dress up Baby Jefferson here :)

SF!

Woo for spring break! While all of you were in you hot tropical sunny places of the world, my dad and I spent a total of 24 hours driving down to San Francisco and back. It was one of those nice spontaneous trips. It rained and poured on the drive down and snowed on the way back. But the only day that mattered, Saturday, it was sunny and beautiful. We went and saw the USS Hornet, which I'm not going to lie, I thought it was going to be lame. But it ended up being absolutely amazing. It was a huge aircraft carrier that had been through multiple battles during WWII. We also got to see Alcatraz and walked around Fisherman's Warf. I even got to see Kiel for a bit! All in all, it was a good way to end break. And now it's back to school. Only seven weeks left until the end!

Photo shoots are the funnest things in the world.

I love taking pictures. I've always loved it. Just trying your best to replicate a certain place, experience or feeling is something so difficult. It's always great to try and get closer and closer to the message you're trying to pass on. Lately we've been taking a lot of pictures. A lot of awesome random pictures. My advice to you, take more pictures. To capture a moment and to be able to look back on it is great. Even though our experiences are best imprinted in our memories, it's always nice to try and share it with other people. So for you today, are some pictures from the last couple weeks. Just good friends and good times. And now we'll remember them forever.

I was about to post a new entry on the old blog, but then realized that it was getting pretty old and run down. A figure it's time for something fresh and new (and something that gets updated a little more regularly). This will be the place to write about recent adventures, past adventures, and adventures for the future. So for now keep in mind that anytime is time for an adventure. So go out and do it :)
